Our Family Trip
When we heard about a great spot in Toquerville Utah called Toquerville Falls, we decided to venture out there. We loaded the SUV with a cooler full of sandwich meats, rolls, cheeses, fruit, carrots, and lots of water. Camping chairs, colorful beach towels and all of us! Oh, we also packed dessert. Don’t forget the dessert!
Luckily we took an SUV. The road is rough to say the least. Beautiful scenery and fun turn outs on the side of the hills for a fun ride up and around, made the kids scream with delight! As we journeyed along this dirt road, we had to slow down many times to handle large holes and rough rocks.
When we arrived, we were able to park right at the Falls. That was great, as we had a lot to carry. We set up on the other side of the falls. Everyone was hungry, so while the kids found a perfect spot on top of a huge boulder, I made sandwiches.
After our meal, we headed down to the cool pools and beautiful falls. My daughters took several pictures of each other as the cold waterfalls poured over their delighted heads. Down at the lower pools, they splashed around and swam near the falls, cooling off from the unforgiving summer heat. Heading back to the blue cooler every so often for more delicious food and cold water and then back again to the pools and falls for more fun in the water!
Rough Road
The majority of the road is dirt, so be prepared for some bumps along the way and sandy areas. Many tires have cascaded the side of hills here for a fun ride in their truck! Many take their ATVs, trucks or SUVs. You will want some ground clearance as it does get really rough in some areas.
Waterfalls
The waterfalls are great to get wet in and are beautiful to look at.
Desert Oasis
Many tourists don’t know of this desert oasis called Toquerville Falls. They drive by without even knowing it exists as they head to destinations like Zion National Park. The falls are at the end of a 5.8-mile drive on a bumpy dirt road surrounded by sagebrush and views of Kolob. You drive right up to the Toquerville Falls and park your car. This gives you easy access to your picnic items and food. Yum!
Jump in and Swim!
The Toquerville Falls are not only beautiful but are also a way to experience nature and all its force. The pool is a great place for swimming and relaxing on the warm sandstone rocks that surround the falls. The second level of the falls has a nice wading pool and in its deepest spot it is about 10 feet deep. At times it is only waist deep. People have been known to jump into the water here. Be sure to see how deep it is before jumping in. I recommend the cannonball!

Let’s keep these areas clean of debris so we can enjoy them for years to come. Plan to stay for a while as it is hard to pull the kids away. It is also hard to leave for the adults.
