Splash pads: the St George water park

When the mid-summer heat climbs into regular triple digits, people are looking for a place to stay cool — a place like a St George water park.

Although there is not technically a St George water park to speak of, at least not the monster slides, wave pool and lazy river kind. Still, locals and tourists, have found plenty of water attractions to quench their recreational thirst.

Splash pads keep you cool.

Though this is certainly not an all-inclusive list, it’s enough to get your feet wet. Use it when it comes to splashing, soaking and playing in the water this summer.

Town Square

50 S. Main, St. George

Water attractions: Splash pad, river, waterfall,

The scoop: Centrally located, this St George water park offers shaded tables, chairs, grass area and benches near the water features. By combining the splash pad and the lazy river and waterfalls, this St George water park has plenty of options to keep kids happy and cool.

Side note: Its popularity during the summer means it is seldom without a crowd. Having the splash pad and the river in separate locations can make it difficult to keep an eye on multiple children of different ages at once.

Tips: Children often enjoy bringing plastic cups, buckets, water guns and more to play with in the lazy river area.

The water feature is roughly 1,500 square feet. It is conveniently located next to the playground toys. Such a location makes it ideal for parents to keep an eye on all of their children no matter where they are playing.

Nearby pickleball courts, basketball courts, and path suitable for bicycles or other wheels make it a great place to spend the day.

Archie H. Gubler Park

2375 Rachel Drive

Pine View Park

The scoop: This St George water park provides a lot of amenities. Those amenities include roughly eight acres of grass, two covered pavilions with picnic tables, two playgrounds, basketball court, restrooms, and walking paths.
