Outback St George among great steakhouses

Sometimes you just need a dinner out and if you’re craving something hearty — like a steak — among the many options in southern Utah, Outback St George has you covered.

Outback St George | Local Down Under

You don’t have to travel to the land down under to enjoy this special treat. Although, let’s be honest, who among us hasn’t wished to see a kangaroo in the wild. Right? Outback St George may not be able to boast live kangaroo sightings during the meal, but it can promise plenty of delicious, well-prepared food.

Whether you’re coming for lunch or dinner, steak is, of course, one of the main items served at Outback St George. But it isn’t the only thing.

Before the meal

Kick your meal off right with a savory starter platter. Some of the most popular starters at Outback St George include the Bloomin’ Onion and the Aussie Cheese Fries. I know. It seems a little indulgent to start your meal with something so deep-fried. But you didn’t walk into a place like Outback St George to watch your waistline. Well, maybe you did. In that case, Outback St George does have some excellent options. But we’ll dig into that a little later. First, you need some more bread.

Bread and butter appetizer
Bread with whipped butter, or try the raspberry butter. Amazing.

Like many restaurants, Outback St George offers a complementary pre-meal bread service. But this isn’t just any bread. Or at least, it doesn’t have to be. Hearty, dark, honey wheat Bushman bread is brought to you on a cutting board with a side of whipped butter. Savory. Delicious. But, if you want the best Outback St George experience, here’s a tip. Make sure you ask for the raspberry butter. You’ll thank me, I promise. It’s like homemade raspberry jam and butter whipped together. It’s ah-mazing. Seriously. My mouth is salivating right now.

Perhaps you have more than just carb-loading on your mind. We can respect that. And Outback St George can help with that.

Surf and turf
Tender, juicy steaks

Filet mignon, New York Strip, center cut sirloin, porterhouse, prime rib, rib eye… you get the picture. Outback St George has some amazing signature steaks. Perhaps your Outback St George itch is better scratched with something besides steak. Sure thing. The baby back ribs have got your back. Or the grilled chicken, shrimp and pasta, lobster tails, tilapia, and Bloomin’ Burger. Many of these entrees come with a couple of side dishes. Like homestyle mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, loaded mashed potatoes and more.

Oh, and remember those healthier options we promised to share with you. Outback St George has a few. Like grilled asparagus or broccoli on the side. You can also try the Aussie Cobb Salad, Brisbane Caesar Salad or the Steakhouse Salad, all leafy green, hearty options.

Room for dessert

Sure, it sounds like you’re going to feel stuffed after a meal at Outback St George. You’re right. You will be. But who can turn down dessert? Especially when it’s the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under, or New York style cheesecake? Not tempting enough? Try the triple layer carrot cake or the salted caramel cookie skillet. One of these is bound to make you want to loosen your belt.

Other steakhouses

Outback St George is certainly not the only steakhouse in Southern Utah. There are several places, each worthy of their own write up. Keep watching. It will likely happen. Because once you sample some of the food at places like Anasazi Steakhouse, Gun Barrel Steak and Game, Rib and Chophouse and others, you have to tell all about it.

Anasazi Steakhouse

Take Anasazi Steakhouse for a moment. On par with the excellent food available at Outback St George, Anasazi has its own take on the meal. One that involves a fondue fork and a hot stone at your table.

You can start out with savory cheese fondue as an appetizer. Dipping a variety of vegetables into cheese reminds you that this is how you should always eat your veggies.

When it comes time to order your steak, you can actually cook it to your exact personal standard of perfection, right at your table on a hot stone. So if you’ve wanted to try a bite of steak on the more rare side, go right ahead. But you’re not committed to an entire steak cooked to the same degree. Your next bite could be well done. It’s all up to you.

Then, of course, there’s dessert. Although Outback St George offers delectable desserts, it certainly doesn’t have a corner on that market. Especially when it comes to the dessert fondue at Anasazi Steakhouse.

Picture a platter filled with bites of cheesecake, strawberries, bananas, marshmallows and more, all waiting to be dipped in smooth chocolate.

Fondue offers an intimate dinner setting, and a great way to get exactly what you want on your plate every time.

Not everyone makes a decision on where to live based on the steakhouses operating locally. However, it’s important to think about the restaurant opportunities in a new area.
